About the role

  • Senior Patent Paralegal providing high-quality support across the patent lifecycle. Working closely with attorneys and wider paralegal team in a prestigious IP consultancy firm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support across the full patent lifecycle.
  • Monitor mailboxes and process incoming correspondence, updating records system in respect of deadlines.
  • Prepare and file official forms via Online filing 2.0, One IPO and ePCT portal.
  • Handle EP grant formalities, obtaining translations and preparing responses for filing.
  • Prepare validation estimates and liaise with the validations team to file EP validations and Unitary Patents.
  • Communicate with clients, prepare template letters, send reminders and invoicing in respect of action taken.
  • Liaise with foreign associates.
  • Prepare patent portfolio schedules on request.
  • Process refunds, assist with accounts related queries, and liaise with the finance team to approve invoices.
  • Update process documents and perform additional ad-hoc tasks where necessary.
  • Answer telephone calls, deal with enquiries, and forward messages to the appropriate person.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of patent paralegal experience (strongly preferred).
  • CIPA qualification (essential).
  • Highly proficient.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines and a varying workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to your work.
  • Ambitious for increased responsibility and progression.
  • Flexible attitude to work.
  • Foundational proficiency level of Novagraaf’s Core Competency requirements: customer connectedness, results-oriented, business/commercial awareness, flexibility and resilience.
