About the role

  • Systems & Safety Assurance Lead at Queensland Rail ensuring compliance in major infrastructure projects. Providing expert advice and supporting safe integration of assets into the operational network.

Responsibilities

  • Implement assurance criteria for new or modified assets, ensuring safe integration into the operational network.
  • Coordinate evidence submissions and support configuration change processes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on integration activities, compliance, risks, and technical standards.
  • Review systems assurance deliverables and develop supporting artefacts to meet safety and technical requirements.
  • Monitor non-conformances, drive improvements, and maintain oversight of contract requirements related to asset assurance.
  • Support identification and resolution of operational risks throughout project delivery.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in asset acceptance, risk, and assurance within large-scale project environments from ideally railway environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering construction, operations, and maintenance practices and standards.
  • Proven ability to develop technical standards, specifications, and risk documentation.
  • High-level skills in risk assessment, technical analysis, and interpreting complex data.
  • Solid understanding of design, asset management, and inspection/audit processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Highly organised and motivated individual with outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, with a focus on planning, assurance, and integration.
  • Professional qualification: Bachelor Science or higher
