About the role

• Senior Software Engineer developing complex backend and cloud solutions for one of Austria's largest private companies. Engaging in digitalization of key business processes and creating scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• You develop robust backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring systems remain scalable and performant
• You design event-streaming architectures with Apache Kafka and integrate data streams from various sources
• You turn data science models and prototypes into robust, production-ready software solutions
• You deploy applications into Kubernetes environments and ensure smooth production deployments
• You make efficient use of Helm charts
• You actively contribute to building and further developing the software development team
• You perform code reviews, coach team members and enforce quality standards in development
• You work closely with solution architects and provide practical feedback on architectural decisions

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on Java and Spring Boot
• Solid knowledge of microservices architectures and cloud-adjacent technologies
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and Linux-based environments
• Understanding of event streaming (Apache Kafka) and data integration
• Basic frontend knowledge, ideally with Angular or React
• Comfortable working with agile methods (Scrum, Domain-Driven Design)
• Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
• Nice-to-have but not required: experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools, additional programming languages such as Go or Python, knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS or Azure), experience coaching or mentoring developers, interest in digitalization and automation in the logistics industry
