About the role

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for the assigned categories and purchasing groups including supplier onboarding, RFx, commercial negotiations, raising purchase orders, obtaining order acknowledgement, expediting and goods receiving
  • Undertake procurement of a diverse range of component categories, ensuring consistent high-quality on-time delivery, cost-effectiveness and working capital optimization
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and ability to, negotiate commercial aspects of contract agreements (materials supply agreements incorporating VMI or consignment stock, subcontract agreements, master service agreements, software license/subscription agreements)
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), procurement planning, inventory management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal partners, including engineering, operations and R&D teams to develop purchasing requirements and schedules
  • Utilize market intelligence and industry trends to inform procurement strategies, drive innovation and cost-effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with the right suppliers to ensure success and long-term partnerships
  • Ensure that purchasing requirements are carried out in accordance with the Manta Systems Management System procedures and processes
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient operation in all procurement activities
  • Experienced in working within a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • No direct reporting lines, however, the role is responsible for supervising day-to-day activities and completion of processes in a timely manner and in line with Manta Systems processes and procedures
  • Close interaction with - Acquisition department: Operations, VMs, Shore reps, vessels in operation, Technology, Maritime, IT, HR, EHSQ, and R&D teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Science, or related discipline from a four-year college or university required
  • 5+ years’ experience in senior procurement role and/or category management and/or strategic sourcin
  • Primarily experienced in procurement for OEM manufacturing operations / contract manufacturing / Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) sectors
  • Experience working in a global matrixed organization
  • Knowledge of documentation related to import, export, transport, custom clearance requirements related to dual use goods will be an advantage.
