Fleet Manager responsible for vehicle management tasks at Pioneer Resources. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintenance standards while optimizing fleet operations.
Responsibilities
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overall vehicle management including; acquisition, disposal, maintenance and repair, parts ordering, inventory control, budgeting and fleet data systems operation and maintenance.
Maintaining agency vehicles in conformity with manufacturer’s recommendations and local, county, state and federal requirements.
Responsible for adhering to MDOT specific maintenance requirements.
Establishing and maintaining efficient and effective systems of routine maintenance and preventative care.
Overseeing the diagnosis and repair of agency owned vehicles or determining the appropriate vendor to complete repairs; reviewing the work of outside vendors or technicians.
Keeping accurate records of all repairs, including supplies, parts and labor; working cooperatively with clerks and others responsible for data entry.
Maintain accurate records for ease of monthly financial reporting with Finance Department.
Managing the fleet management database, including entering inventory, work orders, and vehicle information, with strong technology skills required.
Preparing a physical inventory of parts, supplies and equipment on a quarterly and year end basis; managing the parts inventory and producing reports as required.
Promoting a high standard of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work areas.
Maintaining an orderly terminal with respect to tools, buses and security.
Reporting all unsafe and hazardous conditions to the Director of Business as necessary.
Responding to calls from Pioneer Resources staff pertaining to problems with equipment.
Processing insurance claims and assuring the vehicle is fixed.
Assisting the Director of Business in the purchase and disposal of fleet vehicles.
Supervising, coaching and training fleet mechanics.
Maintain fleet mechanic records for certifications and designations.
Focus on electronic data tracking for all inventory and parts.
Manage RFPs and procurement process of parts and service providers
Other dues as required or assigned.
Requirements
A Bachelor degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field and at least one year of experience with transportation services or human services, preferably in a supervisory position, OR an associate degree with 3 years of experience in transportation or human services OR a high school diploma with five years of experience in transportation or human services and two years in a supervisory position preferred.
Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic certification in gas and diesel engines, drive train, brakes and electrical systems is preferred.
This employee will be required to successfully complete all required initial and update trainings.
This employee must possess a Commercial Driver's License.
This position requires driving.
Individuals must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, three (3) or more years of driving experience, less than six (6) points, and no exclusionary violations on driving record.
Must pass all required background checks, physicals, and drug screens.
Valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable according to Pioneer Resources’ Policy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize both self and others’ workloads and work with minimal supervision; high degree of self-direction.
Solid reasoning skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Strong computer skills.
