- Integration, Google Apigee developer, Senior Associate driving API gateway platforms at PwC Canada. Responsible for hands-on design and operation of secure, scalable API functionalities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a hands-on technical consultant responsible for design, build, automation, and operation of API gateway platforms
- Focus on Google Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X with deep production experience
- Work closely with enterprise architects, security teams, network teams, and SRE/platform teams
- Modernize API ecosystems and operate secure, scalable, and highly available API platforms
- Execute and take production ownership of API functionality and security
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Hands-on ownership of Apigee Hybrid/X runtime environments in production
- Experience defining API lifecycle, versioning, and deprecation strategies
- Experience implementing blue/green or canary deployments for gateway changes
- Strong understanding of API developer portal configuration and API product modeling
- Hands-on experience with API proxy designing, development, and lifecycle management
- Experience with Azure, Jenkins or Git for CI-CD implementation
- Deep understanding of Apigee control plane and runtime plane architecture
- Hands-on experience deploying Apigee Hybrid on Kubernetes
- Advanced Infrastructure as Code expertise using Terraform and Helm
- Experience with Workload Identity Federation and enterprise IAM integrations
- Strong API security knowledge including OAuth2, JWT, TLS/mTLS
- Strong hands-on experience with Apigee policies, Shared Flows, and custom policy development
- Experience using JavaScript and Java Callouts for complex mediation
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Apigee, Kubernetes, and networking layers
- Preferred experience with other API Gateway platforms such as Kong, NGINX
- Desired exposure to middleware, ESB, or iPaaS platforms like MuleSoft
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to reusable assets and standards
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
