About the role
- Managing strategic product portfolio and GTM strategy at Portobello Shop. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Portfolio Management
- Structure, develop and maintain the corporate strategy for the product portfolio.
- Define and monitor portfolio guidelines (e.g., renewal rate, number of SKUs, new collections, mix rationalization, focus on high-turnover items).
- Conduct portfolio performance analyses (sales, margin, turnover, lifecycle, overlap and cannibalization).
- Support decisions on product and line launches, prioritization, maintenance and discontinuation.
- Ensure portfolio alignment with the group’s and business units’ strategic objectives.
- Design and evolve the Go-to-Market (GTM) model for products and categories.
- Define GTM guidelines: segmentation, value proposition, positioning, pricing architecture and channel approach.
- Help translate the portfolio strategy into clear, actionable GTM plans for the business units.
- Serve as the guardian of consistency among product, price, channel and communication.
- Contribute to the prioritization of commercial initiatives based on the portfolio strategy.
- Act as the corporate focal point for portfolio and GTM, ensuring adherence to defined guidelines.
- Monitor execution of plans by business units, acting as a strategic partner.
- Support cross-channel governance to avoid overlap, conflicts and deviations from strategy.
- Prepare executive materials, analyses and recommendations for committees and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Administration, Economics, Engineering, Marketing or related fields).
- Experience in portfolio management, product strategy, GTM or related areas.
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in Strategy, Business, Product or Marketing is a plus.
- Experience in corporate environments and cross-functional work with commercial, marketing and product teams is desirable.
