- Dismantling pallets using multiple types of equipment, specifically industrial bandsaws.
- Partnering with team members to operate production equipment with precision to provide consistent quality.
- Performing daily inspections of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Controlling and adjusting equipment settings as needed for various pallet types.
- Evaluating pallet components to determine usability and ensuring they meet PLA quality grades.
- Stacking and storing reusable components in designated areas while properly disposing of waste.
- Maintaining an established production rate to ensure efficiency and safety goals are met.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift to reduce accidents.
- Escalating technical and process issues to leadership immediately.
- Complying with all PLA policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
- Consistent and reliable attendance at work is an essential function of this job.
Requirements
- Previous experience in pallet repair, woodworking, or construction preferred.
- Knowledge of saw operation, including maintenance and safe use of industrial saws, preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and imperfections in wood.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced assembly line environment while meeting daily production goals.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
