Responsibilities
- Manage receiving, shipping, storage, and issuance of MRO materials
- Inspect, mark, and identify items to prevent damage
- Issue tools and supplies to operators per standard process
- Maintain accurate inventory records through random sampling and data entry
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with 5S standards
- Ensure equipment is kept in good operating condition
- Follow inventory and sign-out procedures for shop supplies and equipment
- Source and procure MRO supplies and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products
- Maintain and manage supplier relationships, addressing issues promptly
- Collaborate with finance to establish new vendors, reconcile purchase orders, and ensure timely payments
- Track and report procurement metrics and performance
- Ensure all EPA waste-handling processes are managed correctly
- Complete necessary paperwork and standardized work procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience OR bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field with 3+ years of procurement experience (preferably in MRO)
- Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of money, weight, measurement, volume, and distance
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; CMMS and procurement software experience preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
