About the role
- Software Engineer transforming complex permitting workflows into AI-enabled software experiences at PermitFlow. Collaborating with teams to deliver user-facing features and establish engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Transform complex, manual permitting workflows into seamless, AI-enabled software experiences.
- Design and implement backend and frontend services, APIs, and data pipelines to support AI-driven workflows.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver intelligent, user-facing features.
- Work directly with users to shape product direction and rapidly ship features that drive impact.
- Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and production deployment.
- Help establish engineering best practices and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Strong experience in fullstack development, ideally including time at a startup or fast-moving team
- Comfortable owning features across frontend, backend, and data layers
- Experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Postgres, or ability to learn quickly
- Track record of shipping production systems and making thoughtful trade-offs for speed, reliability, and scalability
- Excitement for AI-powered tools that solve real-world construction challenges and a customer-first mindset
