About the role
- Accountant responsible for general ledger activities and financial reporting for BASF in Berlin. Work closely with group companies and participate in SAP S/4HANA projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the general ledger activities
- Act as an interface between different departments and group headquarters
- Work closely with group companies to ensure accounting processes run smoothly
- Process business transactions in general ledger and lease accounting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to IFRS and HGB/local GaaP standards
- Support income tax calculations and provide input to group reporting
- Be the central contact person for accounting matters for subsidiaries and external auditors
- Involved in projects and contribute to the development of tools and processes
Requirements
- Degree in business administration / apprenticeship with a focus on accounting or an equivalent degree
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- Ideally experience with SAP R/3 and S/4HANA
- Very good knowledge of English and Italian
- High motivation to achieve joint success in a team
- Independent way of working and analytical thinking
- Enthusiastic about automation and digitization of processes
