About the role
- In-House Counsel providing legal advice on healthcare regulations for Pediatric Home Service. Collaborating with executive leadership and supporting compliance in a mission-driven organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel across a broad range of healthcare regulatory, compliance, corporate, payer, and legislative matters
- Advise leadership on state and federal healthcare regulations, including home care, PDN, DME, and PPEC considerations
- Support and collaborate with the Compliance function on investigations, audits, and regulatory responses
- Draft, review, and negotiate corporate contracts, vendor agreements, and payer-related documents
- Partner with outside counsel on complex legal issues and specialized matters
- Lead and support legal and regulatory due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and integrations
- Oversee regulatory and payer notice and consent requirements tied to M&A activity
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and proactively advise leadership on impact and strategy
- Support government relations efforts, including legislative advocacy and regulatory engagement
- Assist with policy development, internal training, and organizational risk mitigation
- Represent the organization in legislative and regulatory discussions when appropriate
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the State of Minnesota
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally within healthcare or a highly regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, regulatory frameworks, and payer environments
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and translate complex legal issues into practical guidance
