About the role
- Software Engineer in Test at PDQ ensuring product reliability and quality through automated testing and collaboration with engineering teams. Focused on building robust solutions for IT professionals.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright
- Write, execute, and improve manual test cases when automation is not feasible
- Validate product functionality across a variety of browsers, Windows and Mac environments, and network configurations
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine requirements and test strategies
- Build and manage test environments and virtual labs to simulate real-world scenarios
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests and feedback loops
- Ability to work with agile teams using Scrum or Kanban
- Recommend new testing tools, strategies, or frameworks that increase test coverage and efficiency
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in software testing or quality engineering, ideally in a SaaS or endpoint-focused product environment
- Hands-on experience with test automation using Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools
- Experience designing and executing performance tests (e.g., load, stress, scalability) to ensure system reliability under real-world conditions
- Strong scripting and debugging skills in JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Windows OS, including endpoint configurations, services, permissions, and networking
- Experience working with bug tracking and test case management tools (e.g., Linear, Jira)
- Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile workflows
- Ability to clearly document test cases, issues, test plans, and related processes
