About the role
- Building Science Project Engineer conducting property assessments and due diligence for clients. Evaluating building systems and providing recommendations for repairs and replacements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of buildings to evaluate the condition of the building systems
- Provide recommendations for immediate repairs
- Use observations and industry standards to determine future building system replacements
- Conduct appropriate site reconnaissance, data compilation and organization, and project research (historical, regulatory, etc.)
- Technical report authoring and preparation of quality supporting documents (maps, appendices, etc.)
- Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule
- Communicate project progress and any issues as they arise to the Project Manager and client
- Provide solid recommendations and solutions to the Project Manager and client
Requirements
- A Bachelors or Graduate Degree in Architecture or related Engineering Field (Civil, Mechanical, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering and/or construction/cost estimating
- 3+ years of experience performing property inspections
- 2+ years of experience completing similar work for financial institutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to and from project sites
