About the role
- Building and evolving scalable design systems in a hybrid role across Spain, Portugal, and England. Working collaboratively to create complex user flows and implementing design strategies.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining a coded design system (e.g., React).
- Implementing design tokens, theming, and flexible component APIs.
- Strong accessibility implementation and documentation practices.
- Flexible brand systems that support theming and reuse.
- Visual hierarchy, imagery, and motion aligned with the design system.
Requirements
- Experience building and evolving scalable design systems from 0–1.
- Token-based systems (color, type, spacing, theming) and component configuration.
- Systems thinking across multiple products and brands.
- Clear documentation, governance, and contribution models.
- UX Design Strategy.
- Platform product experience and systems-level thinking.
- Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping early product foundations.
- Collaboration with legal, localization, and brand partners.
- Defining what is configurable vs fixed within a reusable template.
- Designing complex, end-to-end user flows (search, browse, book, manage).
- Strong information architecture and interaction design.
- Designing reusable patterns rather than one-off screens.
- Accessibility and inclusivity embedded in core design decisions.
