Responsibilities
Supports system design and testing activities aligned with the product vision set by the Product Owners.
Performs technical evaluations to incorporate new devices and capabilities that evolves the technical vision.
Creating new technical standards that support future needs while driving system standardization.
Makes tradeoffs among technical options to balance execution, support, and vendor risk.
Makes tradeoffs among technical options for a portfolio of products.
Assesses system failures, identifying root cause, and recommend corrective actions.
Provides data queries and reports to inform Grid Operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent experience
2 years of electric utility related experience
Experience with grid modeling software (e.g. CYMDIST, PSLF, Aspen, etc)
Excellent communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills
3–7+ years of experience with SCADA, control systems, or real-time operational technologies
Strong knowledge of DNP3, Modbus, 2179 PG&E, IEC 61850 or similar protocols
Experience with ADMS platforms (Schneider Electric preferred) including device modeling, application behavior, and CU/HF deployment processes
Hands-on experience with grid automation devices (S&C, SEL, Siemens, etc)
Proficiency in analyzing telemetry data, communication logs, network models, and system events
Familiarity with key Electric Operations systems such as GIS, DMS, OMS, etc.
Knowledge of distribution equipment
Experience working with the following tools: Jira, MS Excel, Foundry, Power BI
