About the role

  • Provides legal administrative support for PG&E's litigation and regulatory affairs in a hybrid role. Collaborates with attorneys and manages case documents and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal administrative support to litigation, employment law case management, contract review and regulatory filings
  • Compose, edit and proofread pleadings, testimonies, memoranda, correspondence, reports and various other documents for attorneys, federal, state, and local courts including CPUC and other regulatory agencies
  • Record and monitor the docket schedule of court appearance dates, pleadings, cases and filing deadlines for attorneys
  • Prepare witnesses and assemble case materials, exhibits and documents for meetings, hearings, depositions, and court appearances
  • Collaborate with attorneys, client groups, and other support staff to address and resolve various legal matters and compliance issues
  • Compose non-disclosure agreements regarding PG&E policies, procedures and practices
  • Assist in all phases in trial, arbitration, mediation and deposition preparation including e-discovery productions, data review and all forms of discovery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, English, international relations, journalism, political science, public affairs, public policy, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, or law clerk
  • Certified Paralegal (CP) credential desired
  • 7 or more years of experience as a Paralegal desired
  • Experience with litigation, employment, case management support, and court proceedings, processes, and procedures
  • Experience with federal, state, and local regulatory and commission case management
  • Experience with document management
  • Experience with corporate contract management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with litigation support software
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including presentation and technical writing skills
  • Ability to provide direction to others and assign tasks to clerical staff
  • Excellent client/customer focus
  • Takes initiative and works independently
  • Ability to build consensus and contribute in a team environment
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Confident working with Excel including editing and formatting spreadsheets
  • Knowledge and experience regarding the EDiscovery process, including the use of Relativity
  • Proficient with all available Law Department software and technology including Law Manager, Relativity, Teams, Worldox, Excel, Access Databases, CPUC and FERC websites, etc.
  • Proficient with Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and regulatory agency websites to conduct research.
