About the role
- Associate or Vice President in Financial Restructuring at an international financial advisory firm. Handling complex restructurings, financial models, and client interactions while mentoring junior members.
Responsibilities
- Work on a broad range of debtor- and creditor-side situations, including distressed and special situations
- Financial restructurings and takeovers
- Refinancing and debt capital solutions
- Lead day-to-day workstreams on live mandates and marketing projects
- Develop, review and challenge complex financial models and valuation analyses
- Prepare and present client materials (information memoranda, presentations, pitch books)
- Coordinate due diligence and support negotiations with lenders, sponsors and other stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, sponsors and advisors
- Mentor and develop junior team members
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of experience in investment banking or a comparable advisory role (restructuring, leverage finance, special situations or related areas)
- Excellent analytical and technical skills; confident in building and reviewing complex Excel-based models
- Strong interest in financial restructuring, special situations and capital structure topics
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment
- Team player with high integrity, strong communication skills and an ownership mindset
- Fluent in German and English (both required)
- Strong academic track record in finance, economics, business, or a related field
