About the role

  • Associate Director managing global development portfolio and performance insights for Johnson & Johnson. Collaborating across teams to deliver impactful analytical frameworks and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Global Development portfolio and performance related reporting and insights generation to Global Development senior management and Delivery Unit partners.
  • Serving as the process owner for GD Delivery Unit portfolio and performance tracking and reporting (GD/TA Performance dashboards, GD Operational Performance G&O’s etc.
  • Establishing a clear calendar/cadence for the Delivery Unit reporting process and driving organization alignment.
  • Working with Delivery Unit partner to define tracker baselines and report progress against it.
  • Responding ad-hoc portfolio information requests from across GD functional leadership.
  • Understanding partner questions and designing appropriate reporting and analytical frameworks to develop a complete response.
  • Analyzing/Interpreting portfolio and performance data & proactively developing critical insights related to portfolio progress/performance.
  • Interpreting and putting into context analytical findings for impacted business collaborators.
  • Addressing portfolio and performance related questions in an effective, compelling way to ensure customer consensus.
  • Proactively anticipating next level questions and formulating key messages based on accurate and trustworthy information.
  • Contributing to strategic analyses & special projects that influence Global Development portfolio and performance insights generation.
  • Establishing highly collaborative, cross-functional relationships with key collaborators both within and across Global Development.
  • Creating and delivering crisp and impactful presentations of findings to internal and external partners for decision making; communicating insights and recommending business actions partners in an easily digestible fashion.
  • Contributing to the Portfolio prioritization efforts for Global Development and R&D.
  • Interpreting portfolio progress & developing critical insights to inform prioritization.
  • Developing complimentary qualitative and quantitative frameworks that enables GD and Delivery Units to help operationalize our top priorities.
  • Integrating project and trial level detail into a cohesive end to end portfolio story.
  • Monitoring and understanding dynamic portfolio changes and its impacts (Timelines, FTEs, Financials etc.) on portfolio decisions and recommendations.
  • Using relative KMR Industry Benchmarks and internal data to measure GD Cycle Time performance; translating for internal use with GD Functions and bringing critical insights (lessons learned) for continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Using reporting tools such as (Tableau, Power BI etc.).
  • Partnering closely with the Portfolio Reporting Solutions team to align on key system integrations and connection points across data platforms (Planisware, CTMS, DVSO etc.).

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Finance or a related field is required.
  • An advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience working within a global project management, portfolio management organization, a matrixed pharmaceutical R&D organization, and/or Finance supporting Pharmaceutical R&D is required.
  • An analytical background with strong technical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex efforts and work independently while also collaborating with a team is required.
  • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint and tools such as PowerBI, and Tableau skills are required.
  • Drug development experience is preferred.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior leaders is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills including working with cross-functional teams is preferred.
