About the role
- Senior Accountant managing month-end close and financial reporting in fast-paced fintech environment. Overseeing accounts payable and receivable with strong focus on U.S. GAAP compliance.
Responsibilities
- Own key components of the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Manage the full accounts payable lifecycle: vendor setup, invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including subscription-based invoicing, cash application, and collections.
- Support revenue recognition under ASC 606, including contract review and revenue schedules.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Partner with external auditors by preparing audit schedules and responding to requests.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and HR to support business initiatives.
- Support ad-hoc projects and process improvements as the company scales.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s a plus).
- 2–4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a startup, fintech, or SaaS environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with ASC 606.
- Experience with subscription billing and revenue tools; SaaSOptics (Maxio) preferred.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Intacct, or NetSuite.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
