Responsibilities
Investigate and analyze professional liability claim files involving licensees of the OACIQ.
Assess liability, damages and reserves.
Coordinate and monitor the progress of files, liaising with lawyers, experts and insured parties.
Draft contestations related to files filed with the Small Claims Division of the Court of Quebec.
Participate in alternative dispute resolution processes, when required.
Respond to information requests from insureds and consumers.
Take part in risk prevention activities, such as conferences and the drafting of bulletins.
Participate in activities and projects related to the organization’s strategic plan.
Support the increasing volume of low-value claims received by FARCIQ, including responsibilities related to the accelerated processing of these files.
Perform any other related tasks necessary for the proper functioning of FARCIQ.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law, be a lawyer or notary registered on the Order’s roll, or hold a valid Certificate of Expert in Commercial Insurance Claims issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers.
Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Strong written and spoken French and English skills.
2 to 5 years of experience in insurance (expertise in civil or professional liability is an asset).
