About the role
- Senior iOS Engineer responsible for developing and enhancing digital products for News UK, optimizing features and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance The Times and The Sunday Times digital products
- Optimize existing front-end features and develop new ones
- Deliver quality software as part of a cross-functional team
- Interact with product owners and stakeholders to ensure quality output
- Contribute to technical conversations and reports to Principal Engineer
- Mentor other engineers to elevate team performance
Requirements
- Solid commercial experience using Swift
- SwiftUI experience (required)
- Familiarity with Objective-C (desirable)
- Experience in iOS design patterns including MVVM+Coordinators
- Ability to build UIKit views programmatically without using XIBs/Storyboards
- Proficiency in using Autolayout to build adaptable layouts
- Experience profiling iOS applications for performance and memory issues
- Understanding of SOLID design principles
- Dependency management with Cocoapods and Swift Package Manager
- Knowledge of unit testing with XCTest/Swift
- Familiarity with UI automation testing with XCUITest
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CircleCI experience would be a bonus)
- Experience in build automation with Fastlane
- Some experience working with React Native would be an advantage
- Experience mentoring teams is also advantageous.
