About the role

  • Leading Finance and Controlling at Landesförderinstitut Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with a focus on team management and financial performance optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of the Finance and Controlling unit, including resource management and staff development
  • Provide effective leadership and motivation for a remote-working team by developing strategies to ensure optimal team engagement
  • Plan, organize, manage and monitor all group-specific tasks, in particular to fulfill commercial, supervisory and tax law obligations
  • Monitor workloads and work results to ensure timely completion and manage required capacities
  • Preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and of KWG regulatory reporting
  • Preparation of budget plans, forecasts and variance analyses for the bank and, where required, for inclusion in the state budgets of the ministries of Mecklenburg‑Vorpommern
  • Review financial processes, identify improvement potential and implement appropriate measures
  • Manage tasks related to asset and liability account administration for the State Development Institute of Mecklenburg‑Vorpommern (Landesförderinstitut M‑V), including cash management and in-house IT support
  • Analyse and provide relevant results for internal and external information recipients (NORD/LB, auditors, supervisory bodies, specialist and financial departments of the ministries of Mecklenburg‑Vorpommern)
  • Work closely with executive management and cross‑departmental stakeholders to optimize financial performance

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in finance and controlling, ideally in a credit institution, a bank or a public-sector organisation
  • Experience in leading and developing a team
  • Solid knowledge of accounting (HGB) and controlling
  • Awareness of working within public authority structures and as part of NORD/LB in a bank-regulated environment
  • Analytical skills and a strong numerical affinity
  • Independent and structured working style
  • Strong and confident communication skills
  • Assertiveness and decisive decision-making
  • Confident use of common financial software solutions and MS Office, especially Excel
  • Willingness to travel between the Schwerin and Hanover locations
