About the role
- Senior Test Engineer in Nokia's Network Infrastructure division focusing on Fiber-to-the-spot deployments. Building networks, configuring switches, and testing quality of service features.
Responsibilities
- build network topologies in the lab
- configurating & bringup of setups with existing & new features
- follow regression testing to keep our SW baseline flawless
- manual & automated testing of switch/routing & QoS features for the Fiber Access Network
- automation scripting of testcases
- Finding issues & discussing them with development engineers, reproduction & pinpointing of root-causes
- [ delve into the C++ code yourself to solve the bugs yourself]
- tooling development for testcases : test framework development, virtualization frameworks, CI server automation, debug-tool development...
- Be a network specialist that does not simply test a feature but defines features, becomes a guru on how networks behave & should behave from a system point of view.
Requirements
- strong python knowledge is a must. (This will be tested in job interview)
- experience with building setups based on either ethernet switches or actual access networks
- experience with network protocols & testing them
- experience with traffic generators
- nice : Experience with robot framework
- nice : Experience with eg. Jenkins scripting, python (or other languages) tool development
- nice : experience with building / maintaining test-frameworks
- nice : experience/knowledge of C++ SW development
- nice : experience with AI-driven & agentic code development (eg. cursor, copilot,...)
- A team player who values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and working toward common goal
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to engage in technical discussions. Somebody that can go to a whiteboard & start discussing with passion about test-frameworks, ways of working, topologies, system behavior...
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership of medium/high-complexity features.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or equivalent practical experience.
