About the role
- Lead Project Manager overseeing renewable asset development projects for NextEra Energy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present updates to leadership while traveling across sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead development projects from beginning to end, overseeing cross-functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization
- Drive origination and business development efforts that will directly impact NextEra Energy’s bottom line
- Focus on developing renewable projects located in the South West Region (New Mexico)
- Present your projects and updates to Development leadership
- Provide your input and expertise daily to subject matter experts as a collaborative team project leader
- Travel across our sites to gain expertise in the regional energy market, the project, and the local community
Requirements
- Experience developing renewable asset business opportunities
- Experience leading projects that require land acquisition, permitting, zoning, environmental studies, and interconnection evaluations
- Experience with project valuations, commercial agreements, and tax abatements
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Experience with implementing project management principles and process design
- Experience & proficiency with corporate finance principles
- Experience & proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Comfortability in community engagement
- Candidates with prior energy experience, an MBA, or a relevant graduate degree are highly preferred.
