About the role
- Financial Analyst in Treasury team at NextEra Energy, focusing on corporate financing and risk exposure analysis. Engaging in bond transactions, relationships with stakeholders, and market insights reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support bond and equity transactions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, lawyers, and internal stakeholders.
- Build and update financing models
- Digest market reports and benchmarks and present insights
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, articulating risk exposure, impact to earnings & cash flows, and market insights.
- Execute interest rate hedges and cross currency swaps alongside foreign debt issuances
- Prepare materials for management overviewing our corporate hedge portfolio
- Monitor interest rate markets and assess the potential impact on the company’s financial portfolio and capital structure.
- Complete ad-hoc analysis of our current/future hedging and understanding their impact on our credit metrics and EPS
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in banking risk solutions/rates, corporate finance, treasury, capital markets, or financial risk management.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (Bloomberg, FactSet, OpenLink skills preferred)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with interest rate derivatives and cross-currency swaps, ideally in a project finance or infrastructure context.
- Familiarity with accounting concepts and regulatory frameworks is strongly preferred.
