About the role

  • Brief Counsellor providing individual and family counselling for New Path Youth and Family Services. Supporting children, youth, and families through innovative mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the needs of children, youth and families, formulating treatment plans including goals and service strategies.
  • Meet with clients and/or their families to provide support & counselling, using evidence based/informed programs.
  • Assist client(s) in making referrals to community resources as needed.
  • Provide consultation to New Path Staff, other agency personnel or the community.
  • Function as a supportive member of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W)
  • Minimum two years' experience working with children, youth and their families in a children's mental health or related service
  • Experience/training in Single Session Counselling
  • Experience working with evidence based/informed programs
  • Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
  • French language is an asset.
