About the role

  • Lead, coach, and develop two Sales Analysts to enhance analytical, storytelling, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Prioritize and delegate workload effectively, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of insights and reporting.
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and professional development.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and performance coaching aligned with Newell’s leadership values.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Walmart and the L&D category, providing thought leadership and guidance to both internal stakeholders and external customer partners.
  • Serve as the expert on the use of syndicated and shopper data to inform decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting to provide actionable insights that drive profitable category growth.
  • Influence joint business planning by leveraging business drivers and cross-functional learnings (Category Development, Consumer Insight, Sales Planning, etc.).
  • Lead assortment, shelving, and merchandising recommendations to support the Walmart line review process.
  • Monitor omnichannel trends and shopper behaviors (e.g., site-to-store, store-to-site) to identify new opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to internal leadership and Walmart stakeholders (e.g., business reviews, line reviews, deep dives, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (emphasis in business/marketing or related field)
  • 7+ years of experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, or related fields within leading CPG company.
  • 5+ years’ experience in category management supporting Walmart
  • Previous people management experience is strongly preferred, with proven ability to develop talent and lead a high-performing team.
  • Strong understanding of category management principles, tools and processes
  • Ability to build strong sustainable working relationships with the customer, and cross-functionally within Newell (Sales, Marketing and Insights)
  • Advanced analytical and storytelling skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and syndicated data platforms (Circana, Nielsen, Numerator)
  • Experience analyzing retailer data and presenting insights to senior leadership (Scintilla experience required)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects, influence cross-functional teams, and drive action.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
