About the role

  • Strategic Commercial Manager developing Discounter channel strategy for Nestlé. Leading European business development projects and enhancing channel expertise across markets.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy development: In this newly created role, you will apply your strategic expertise to develop and expand the Discounter channel strategy, ensuring we remain one step ahead in international markets.
  • Project management: Lead European business development projects for discounters, link categories and markets, and drive rapid implementation of new approaches.
  • Networking & training: Build channel expertise across Nestlé markets, design practical, hands-on training sessions, and establish active knowledge transfer related to the Discounter channel. You will work closely with the Commercial Development teams to achieve this.
  • Meeting management: Own the creation and design of presentations that optimally position the channel.
  • Variety retail: As a Commercial Manager (m/f/d), you will oversee this sub-channel, develop cross-country growth plans, and lead their international implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience: You have completed university studies (e.g., Business Administration) and possess several years of experience in Sales, Commercial Development, or a similar function—ideally within the FMCG environment.
  • Intercultural competence: You enjoy working across countries and ideally bring relevant international experience. You are business‑fluent in English; German and/or other languages are a plus.
  • Working style: You are goal‑oriented and highly analytical, work independently, take initiative, and stand out through clear communication and strong drive.
  • Data competence: You are comfortable using tools such as Nielsen, IRI, GfK, or Drotax to make data-driven decisions. You easily translate insights into PowerPoint and are proficient with other MS Office applications.
  • Mindset: You enjoy thinking outside the box and continuously evolving the role and its responsibilities.
