About the role
- Cloud Architect responsible for designing and implementing enterprise cloud solutions. Collaborating with teams to drive cloud architecture strategies and modernize cloud infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise cloud architectures aligned with organizational strategy and standards
- Develop and enforce cloud architecture frameworks, policies, and best practices
- Collaborate with business owners, analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams to define application and data architecture
- Lead cloud adoption strategies and modernization initiatives
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions across multiple platforms
- Guide development teams in building cloud-native and hybrid applications
- Implement and integrate solutions across major Cloud Service Providers (CSPs)
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation strategies
- Ensure all solutions comply with Fairfax County standards and requirements
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and DevOps best practices
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering, or related roles
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale cloud solutions
- Strong understanding of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments
- Experience implementing secure and compliant cloud architectures
- Ability to align technical solutions with business needs
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience working in government or regulated environments is a plus
