Responsibilities
- Develop innovative data-driven solutions through data pipelines, modelling and ETL design
- Drive customer value by addressing complex business problems and requirements
- Engage with engineering community to deliver opportunities
- Carry out complex data engineering tasks for scalable data architecture
- Build understanding of API ecosystem and contribute to API-enabled data services
- Build advanced automation of data engineering pipelines through removal of manual stages
- Embed new data techniques into business through role modelling, training, and experiment design oversight
- Source new data using appropriate tooling for the situation
- Develop solutions for streaming data ingestion and transformations
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices for secure data access and integration
- Integrate APIs with data platforms, streaming services, or cloud-based data platforms
- Ensure API and microservice designs adhere to security and compliance standards
Requirements
- Strong understanding of data usage and dependencies
- Experience of extracting value and features from large scale data
- Practical experience of programming languages
- Knowledge of data and software engineering fundamentals
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Experience using Java Spring Boot
- Strong programming experience in Java alongside Python and Spark
- Experience of ETL technical design
- Data quality testing, cleansing, and monitoring
- Data sourcing, and exploration and analysis
- Data warehousing and data modelling capabilities
- Understanding of modern code development practices
- Experience in a governed and regulatory environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage and manage stakeholders
- Experience integrating APIs with data pipelines, event streaming, or cloud-based data platforms.
