About the role

  • Right of Way Project Manager coordinating transportation project activities for the Florida Department of Transportation. Ensuring compliance and managing consultants in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct the activities on a right-of-way project.
  • Procure consultant services.
  • Review and approve invoices.
  • Review and recommend administrative settlements.
  • Respond to public records requests and related inquiries.
  • Provide expert property management assistance for project/parcel assignments.
  • Coordinate with other offices to address and resolve issues.
  • Identify and evaluate advance acquisition opportunities.
  • Ensure and monitor a Quality Control Program.
  • Ensuring data is entered into the Right of Way Management System (RWMS) and SharePoint.
  • Interpret and communicate right-of-way policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure conformance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, train and assist local governments.
  • Represent Right of Way at public meetings/hearings and workshops, and similar forums.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and eight years of real estate experience defined as professional or technical experience in right of way administration, land management, abstract and title work, property management, or the sale, acquisition, or appraisal of real estate;
  • An associates degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of the required experience.
  • Graduation from the FDOT Real Estate Level II Training Program can substitute for seven years of the required experience.
  • Prior experience as a Right of Way Project Manager can substitute for eight years of the required experience.
