About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing IT projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, leading project teams and managing budgets for successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Project Manager leads IT projects from initiation to completion, overseeing planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Ensures compliance with Florida Department of Transportation and state requirements.
  • Manages risks and issues and prepares procurement documentation.
  • Delivers clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Required to secure and assign resources required for successful execution.
  • Regularly monitors project progress, performance, risks, and issues to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience in business, data, or systems analysis and/or project management
  • Post-secondary education can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices according to the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Information technology (IT), procedures, concepts, and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Lead, motivate, and work with diverse groups of people and teams.
  • Display professionalism in dealing with all levels of leadership and staff.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with multiple levels in an organization.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering.
  • Interpret technical concepts and communicate them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve complex technical/business problems, using sound judgement to identify, evaluate, and recommend solutions.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments.
  • Develop and manage documentation in accordance with the Department's standards.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project, familiar with computer basics.
