About the role

  • Responsible for researching crime reporting data and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. Collaborate with law enforcement and provide quality service to agencies and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research to support accurate and complete crime reporting information to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements;
  • Conducting research to validate submissions of crime reporting data;
  • Working with agencies to identify errors within data submissions of crime reporting information;
  • Working with subject matter experts to resolve difficult, unusual or questionable issues in the review and processing of crime reporting data;
  • Remaining knowledgeable about legislative changes, rules and regulations, policies, and operating procedures related to information systems and specific workflow processes;
  • Providing service to local, state, and federal agencies and the general public by means of telephone, correspondence, personal contact, or online communications;
  • Maintaining regular contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice, other criminal justice agencies outside the state of Florida, and non-criminal justice agencies for the purpose of gathering required documentation to gain clarification as needed for record modifications;
  • Responding to incoming communications as assigned and communicates effectively;
  • Drafting written notifications to customers regarding deficiencies or anomalies with data;
  • Supporting division objectives by task analysis, work flow documentation, and application support to avoid or resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems;
  • Performing other related duties and functions as assigned.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
  • Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;
  • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
