About the role

  • UX Designer at Mutant crafting user experiences from research to design implementation. Collaborating with teams to enhance product usability and accessibility across platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct research (interviews, surveys, desk research) and moderated/unmoderated usability tests.
  • Map personas, journeys, jobs-to-be-done, flows and opportunities based on qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Translate business objectives into hypotheses, UX problems and success criteria (metrics).
  • Define information architecture, navigation and end-to-end flows for iOS, Android and responsive Web.
  • Produce wireframes (low/medium fidelity) and interactive prototypes (high fidelity) for rapid validation.
  • Ensure accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) and consistency of patterns (Material 3, Apple HIG).
  • Create screens, components and design tokens; evolve and maintain the Design System (documentation, guidelines, versioning).
  • Design microinteractions and states (error, loading, empty, success) optimizing clarity and feedback.
  • Plan and analyze A/B experiments and usability studies; read analytics (GA4/Amplitude/Mixpanel/Hotjar/FullStory).
  • Define and track UX KPIs (conversion rate, task success, task time, SUS/NPS, engagement).
  • Provide clear handoff to engineering (Dev Mode, specs, tokens) and follow implementation through to “done”.
  • Work in agile squads (Scrum/Kanban), participating in plannings, refinements and dailies.
  • Mentor junior designers and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Content/UX Writing and QA.
  • Maintain standards, accessibility, visual performance and omnichannel consistency (app, PWA, web, e-mail, etc.).
  • Maintain UX backlog, record decisions, risks and experience debt (UX debt).

Requirements

  • Experience with Design Systems, continuous discovery and end-to-end cycle (from research to go-live).
  • Research & Testing: planning, moderation, analysis, synthesis (personas, journeys, empathy maps).
  • UX: information architecture, flows, Nielsen heuristics, WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility.
  • UI: typography, layout, grids, color/contrast, component design, states and microinteractions.
  • Prototyping: navigable prototypes (mobile/web) for validation and handoff.
  • Metrics: reading analytics (GA4/Amplitude/Mixpanel), A/B experiments (VWO/Optimizely/Firebase A/B).
  • Handoff & Dev: specifications, tokens/variables, basic HTML/CSS and an understanding of React/Native (concepts) to enable better collaboration with engineering.
  • Platforms: Material 3 and Apple HIG; responsiveness (mobile-first).
  • Tools (expected proficiency)
  • Figma & FigJam (components, variants, auto-layout, variables/tokens, Dev Mode, libraries).
  • Miro/FigJam (workshops, mappings), Jira/Confluence/Notion (management and documentation).
  • GA4, Hotjar/FullStory, Amplitude/Mixpanel (usage analysis).
  • VWO/Optimizely or Firebase A/B Testing (when applicable).
  • Adobe CC (Illustrator/Photoshop) for assets; Lottie/After Effects (Bodymovin) for micro-animations.
  • Storybook (desirable) for Design↔Engineering integration.
  • Differentials: HFI (CUA/CXA), UX Writing/Content Design, heuristics for localization/internationalization, LGPD awareness.
