Capital Project Engineer at Mosaic Company overseeing diverse asset projects in Louisiana. Managing project execution, design, and collaboration with engineering firms and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Execute and manage projects of various sizes and complexities including scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management, and all aspects of construction.
Follow Mosaic’s Capital Project Management (CPM) road map for project initiation/concept through engineering design, including development of engineering work packages and engineering proposals (RFQs/RFPs (Request for Quotes/Proposals)).
Collaborate with Mosaic’s engineering, operations, mechanical integrity and related groups.
Define scope(s) of work, deliverables, and milestones for design services contracts.
Technical design of projects and oversite of third party engineering.
Collaborate with Engineering Firms during Front End Loading (FEL) phases.
Receive and distribute engineering deliverables to all project stakeholders
Plan for or work with scheduler to monitor schedule and validate progress.
Collaborate with Mosaic’s Procurement team on pre-bid meetings, evaluation of bids, pre-award meetings, purchase orders, etc.
Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, requisitions, etc.
Supervise and manage contracts to ensure Mosaic’s quality, risk management, budget, schedule, and standards are adhered to.
Manage construction issues, lead and attend meetings, track, and resolve any change order and request for information submittals through the project lifecycle using Mosaic’s document control process.
Work with Mosaic’s Project Controls team for developing estimates, monthly forecasting/accruals and finance management.
Project administration including preparing and presenting project approvals and project status reports to Mosaic Leadership.
Technical/personal development and coaching others (contractors, trades, engineering firms, training courses, etc.) including managing 3rd party PM’s and CM’s that work on-site on behalf of Mosaic.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, Major in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical Mining, and industrial Engineering preferred.
8+ years related experience with a focus on managing multiple capital projects of varying scope and magnitude from inception through start-up.
Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management.
Highly organized, self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities.
Must demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, and team building.
Experience managing ambiguity and navigating challenging situations with the ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.
Proficiency in MS Office products, PI/OSISoft products or similar data historian, added benefit if the experience is with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Primavera (or similar software) experience
Competent in understanding and translating data analytics
SAP/Maximo application experience preferred.
