About the role
- Senior Accountant providing accounting support and analysis for German and Swiss GAAP. Leading day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring accuracy of financial records in Munich, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Provides accounting support and analysis for the Corporate, German and Swiss GAAP.
- Leads day-to-day accounting activities and month-end close by monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal vouchers, and providing management with timely and accurate reporting.
- Tasks include Journal entries, BS, PL and Cashflow reporting, annual accounts and audit processes.
- Quarter & yearly VAT preparations as well as preparation of year-end closing.
- Regular bank reconciliation with control of accounts receivables and accounts payables.
- Ensures accuracy and compliance of financial records.
- Prepares and/or work with local service providers to coordinate statutory tax and reporting requirements.
- Research tax and regulatory issues as needed.
- Provides Government Relation support as needed as it relates to government filings and assisting with resolution of corporate matters.
- Develops cash flow management.
- Supports Budget process.
- Identifies and propose accounting solutions for new or unusual business transactions and helps to ensure that the day-to-day accounting is consistent with corporate accounting policies, procedures and GAAP.
- Supports Audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Supports ERP rollout for FI modules.
- Supports for ad hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
- +5 years experience in similar roles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self motivated with a high level of initiative
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Advanced Knowledge of Excel and PowerBI.
- Fluent in English and German, French or other EU language is a +.
