About the role

  • Network Administrator managing and maintaining network infrastructure at Moneris. Configuring hardware and ensuring stable performance of systems within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure network hardware from Palo Alto, Cisco and BIG-IP (firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, wireless access points, etc.).
  • Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN) and related infrastructure.
  • Responsible for handling operational support requests, including service and change requests, incident investigations, corrective actions, troubleshooting and monitoring of network services, LAN/WAN connectivity and the data center.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule to support critical production systems 24/7.
  • Participate in projects, including the design, implementation, installation and configuration of network infrastructure systems.
  • Continuously monitor network performance to ensure stability and rapidly resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular network security audits and enforce compliance with security policies.
  • Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades and patches required to maintain optimal network performance.
  • Maintain detailed network documentation for all configurations, procedures and hardware inventories.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and network changes.
  • Work closely with IT teams, vendors and other departments to ensure the network meets the organization’s needs.
  • Perform regular network traffic analysis and performance measurements.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks, optimize network performance and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in firewall administration, design and management (Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.).
  • Cisco CCNA certification required.
  • Strong skills in networking, design, administration, implementation, monitoring, support and automation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex network systems and multisite network infrastructures.
  • Strong project management skills and experience communicating progress with colleagues, partners, and both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems and merchant acquiring operations.
