About the role

  • Senior Product Manager managing Trade Lifecycle Management at a global FinTech empowering cross-border commerce. Leading teams in product strategy, technical execution, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • The primary engine for processing financing requests, featuring AI-assisted document ingestion.
  • Our internal regulatory and due diligence command center.
  • The "fin" in our fintech—handling funds disbursement and accounts receivable management.
  • Managing our critical plumbing with Tier-1 Banks and PSPs.
  • Global Coordination: You will bridge the gap between our Berlin-based Product and Engineering teams and our global Operations, Risk, and Commercial functions.
  • Ruthless Prioritization: In a resource-constrained environment, "No" is your most important word. You will lead the quarterly planning, focusing only on themes that drive profitability and operational stability.
  • Alignment with Senior Management: Working closely with senior management requires the ability to navigate ambitious, founder-led technical philosophies and synthesize high-pressure executive requests into stable, scalable, and realistic roadmaps.
  • Direct Execution: You will lead agile ceremonies not just as a facilitator, but as the person who deeply understands the technical constraints.
  • The "Engineering Shield": You act as the primary buffer for the engineering team, ensuring they stay focused on delivery while you manage shifting priorities and stakeholder pressure at the leadership level.
  • Data Stewardship: You aren't waiting for a data analyst. You will build your own dashboards (Looker/Grafana/SQL) to monitor product health, user engagement, and the ultimate success of your products.
  • AI for Efficiency: We use AI to solve "boring" but expensive problems—like document ingestion and risk automation. You will champion these initiatives to further reduce our operational overhead.
  • Rapid Validation: You will use Figma and AI-assisted coding tools to prototype and validate ideas before a single line of production code is written.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English (C1 or more), both written and spoken
  • 3+ Years in B2B Product: Ideally in Fintech, Trade, or complex Logistics. You understand that "elegant" usually means "simple and robust."
  • The "Fit-for-Purpose" Mindset: You get excited by constraints. You know how to build a 0.1 version that solves a problem today rather than a 1.0 that takes six months.
  • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): You have a "thick skin" and a low ego. You are skilled at managing high-stakes relationships with demanding founders and technical leaders, knowing when to push back with data and when to pivot gracefully.
  • Resilience & Composure: You thrive in complex environments where communication can be direct and the pressure is high. You remain the calmest person in the room during intense architectural debates.
  • Time Zone Mastery: You are comfortable managing a calendar that spans multiple continents and proactive early-morning syncs with Asia.
  • Technical Fluency: You can talk shop with engineers and navigate the complexities of trade finance plumbing.

Benefits

  • Flat Hierarchy : Reporting to our COO and Co-Founder means short decision paths and the ability to influence the strategic direction of the core product daily.
  • Direct Line of Sight: Your impact is visible. You will see the direct correlation between your product decisions and the company's P&L and operational health.
  • No Fluff: You’ll be working on problems that actually matter to the survival and success of global small and medium sized businesses.
  • Professional Growth: Managing the intersection of complex operations and "founder-led" technical dynamics is a masterclass in stakeholder management.
  • Self-directed Learning: we believe in a lifetime journey of continuous learning; everyone at MODIFI has access to Udemy to support this journey
  • Build Transferrable Skills: regular company all hands, product engineering all hands, data sessions, and technical chapter meetings provide the stage for you to learn from and teach others in high visibility, collaborative learning environments
  • Network: regular company events, dinners, and lunches give you the opportunity to get to know colleagues beyond the every day
