About the role

• Data Engineer with a focus on AI and Snowflake designing and implementing data products. Collaborating with business stakeholders to enable advanced analytics and AI-driven use cases.

Responsibilities

• As a Data Engineer with a focus on AI and Snowflake, you will design, implement, and operate data products that enable advanced analytics and AI-driven use cases across Heraeus.
• Acting as a technical expert and internal consultant, you will work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and AI engineers to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality data products on Snowflake.
• Design, develop, and implement data products on Snowflake, from concept to production.
• Build and operate scalable Snowflake-based data pipelines for analytics and AI use cases.
• Develop and optimize data models and transformations using SQL, Snowflake features, and ELT frameworks.
• Act as a consulting partner for business units, translating business and analytical requirements into data product designs.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and AI engineers across domains.
• Ensure data quality, performance, security, and compliance in line with governance standards.
• Support the full lifecycle of data products, including monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to data architecture standards, best practices, and documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable qualification
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role
• Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake, ideally in building data products
• Strong skills in SQL and Python; experience with Coalesce or similar tools is a plus
• Experience in consultative roles with close interaction with business stakeholders
• Experience in Project Management
• Ability to structure requirements and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
• Structured, ownership-driven, and solution-oriented working style
• Very good English skills, German is an advantage.
