About the role

  • Material Quality Tester ensuring material performance in manufacturing processes at Reynolds American. Collaborating with various departments to address quality issues and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be responsible for ensuring assigned materials perform well in Manufacturing.
  • This role will monitor supplier’s performance, conduct reviews, develop and monitor material/vendor qualifications and develop and maintain contingency plans.
  • Monitors and addresses any material concerns that arise in any areas or shifts to maintain and enhance efficient quality driven production.
  • Identifies and isolates defective materials and documents issues in the database.
  • Provides guidance to manufacturing personnel for troubleshooting material complaints and collaborates with suppliers to develop timely resolutions.
  • Analyzes why materials do not perform as expected and collaborates with manufacturing to drive solutions.
  • Ensures suppliers meet the commitment to support successful material performance through frequent communication methods and supplier auditing.
  • Lead and manage review of material performance via internal Quality audits.
  • Complete required FDA regulatory training
  • Be aware of the Company environmental, health & safety policies and comply with the objectives as it relates to the role
  • Follow Company Safety Rules
  • Know the potential health & safety risks and environmental impacts of work activities and understand role in mitigating these impacts
  • Understand responsibilities for compliance with regulatory requirements and Company standards
  • Complete EHS-required training and follow operational procedures
  • Immediately report all injuries and illnesses
  • Participate in EHS programs as required by assigned site/role (e.g., PULSAR safety observation program, Safety Triggers)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • WorkKeys Assessments: Applied Math (Level 3), Workplace Documents (Level 3), Graphic Literacy (Level 3).
  • Systems – MES, SAP, LIMS, VIDES, Pilgrim, MS Office Applications, SharePoint, Excel, etc
  • Knowledge of material and machine interaction.
  • Knowledge of Specification and Manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn and perform various duties.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer applications, systems and programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard Quality guidelines and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • General knowledge of TPMP requirements (Nice to have)
  • Experience with LIMS, VIDES, SAP, MES, and Pilgrim. (Nice to Have)
  • Must be able to navigate work areas to include: Rework, Make/Pack, and other areas of the Tobaccoville facility.
  • Ability to lift/position materials up to 40lbs.
