Assistant Commercial Finance Manager managing Manufacturing Costs and CAPEX at BAT in Papua New Guinea. Collaborating with Operations leaders to drive financial performance and compliance in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Lead cost excellence by managing Operations Costs to meet financial targets.
Partner closely with Operations leaders on budgeting, identifying savings opportunities, and driving month ‑ end close activities.
Own the Factory CAPEX process, ensuring investments are well ‑ managed and capital spending aligns with business priorities.
Enable data ‑ driven decisions through clear, structured, and actionable analysis of both financial and operational metrics.
Strengthen financial performance by supporting effective planning, monitoring, reporting, and control of Operations and Product Costs.
Champion full SOx compliance within the Manufacturing environment, promoting strong internal controls and continuous compliance awareness.
Support statutory and internal requirements, including IFRS, K ‑ GAAP, tax submissions, and internal audit activities.
Collaborate across teams by managing ad ‑ hoc requests with thoughtful prioritization, clear communication, and proactive engagement.
Requirements
At least 4 years of experience in a commercial finance role, ideally within an operations or manufacturing environment.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CPA are an added advantage.
Strong command of English, with the ability to communicate clearly across teams and functions.
Hands ‑ on experience with key finance systems and tools, such as SAP, BPC, and Business Intelligence platforms.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, apply critical thinking, and build insights using Excel and PowerPoint.
Effective collaboration skills with the confidence to influence, partner, and build strong working relationships.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and deliver results in a fast ‑ paced and evolving environment.
