About the role

  • Lead complex design and project management for offices, laboratories, and various facilities at Milhouse Engineering. Engage in tasks with minimal oversight for diverse projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design to client and regulatory requirements
  • Manage mid to large size projects and programs
  • Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule, and budget variances in a timely manner
  • Manage subordinate or other discipline resources to quality, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Construction Administration duties, including but not limited to shop drawing review and disposition
  • Prepare project documents, specifications, and reports
  • Maintain project files
  • Create and enforce project quality plan
  • Data and document entry into various platforms
  • Report safety, health, and quality issues to management
  • Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
  • Assist management as directed
  • Design using Revit, CAD, and CADD
  • Mentor Architects in less senior positions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an ABET accredited institution
  • 9-12 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Architectural registration in Illinois preferred
  • Certification in LEED, preferred
  • Buildings, schools/education, restaurant, office, government and private clients, value engineering experience
  • Memberships and active participation in discipline specific professional organizations such as AIA
  • Proficient in Revit, BIM360, ACAD, MicroStation and Rhino, as well as Bluebeam, Illustrator, Photoshop, OnDesign, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
  • Familiar with discipline specific design software and design management systems
  • Able to understand Civil, Structural, and MEP Documents
