About the role

  • IT System Administrator managing customer support and system administration in a hybrid model for IT consulting company. Handling incidents and collaborating with internal teams on technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Customer support: Central point of contact for customers via phone, e-mail and remote access.
  • Independent acceptance, handling and documentation of service requests and incidents.
  • Technical support and system monitoring: Analyze, prioritize and permanently resolve incidents in the areas of virtualization, Windows and Linux server services.
  • Administration of server hardware, storage systems, operating systems and networks.
  • Proactive monitoring of customer systems and regular health checks.
  • Identifying root causes of problems and deriving improvement measures.
  • Managed services: Planning, execution and control of managed services within agreed SLAs.
  • Participation in change management and consistent documentation of all activities.
  • Preparation of service reports and support for Continual Service Improvement (CSI).
  • Close collaboration with customers and internal teams to ensure stable, secure and high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Professional background: Completed vocational training in IT (e.g., IT specialist for system integration) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Career changers with relevant practical experience are also welcome.
  • Motivation and willingness to learn: You are curious, keen to develop and want to continuously expand your knowledge in a modern IT environment.
  • Service orientation: Professional and friendly manner in dealings with customers and colleagues is a matter of course for you.
  • Communication skills and team spirit: You enjoy working in a team but can also take on tasks independently.
  • Technical foundation: You are proficient with Windows (client/server) and Linux systems.
  • Terms like DNS and DHCP are familiar to you, and you have a solid basic understanding of networking that you can further develop with hands-on experience.
  • Virtualization & Cloud: Good practical experience with VMware technologies (Broadcom / Omnissa) and knowledge of cloud environments.
  • Interest in IT security: You are interested in IT security topics and apply this knowledge actively in daily work or continuously deepen it.
  • Technology affinity: Enthusiasm for new technologies and trends, especially in cloud and security, combined with a willingness to engage in continuous learning.
  • Language skills: Very good German language skills, both spoken and written.
