Responsibilities
Deliver technical support for utility energy efficiency programs in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York
Support measurement and verification work in New York and Connecticut
Perform energy assessments and detailed studies on commercial and industrial buildings
Perform energy calculations, program and launch data logging equipment, and write reports
Identify decarbonization opportunities and energy efficiency measures
Diagnose building HVAC control issues
Assess equipment condition, estimate project costs, and perform site visits
Help customers navigate implementation of electrification projects, including consulting on structural, electrical, and other considerations when converting to electric heat
Conduct meetings, presentations, and non-technical and technical writing
Requirements
Four-year degree, preferably in electrical, mechanical, chemical, or building systems engineering
Three to ten years’ experience combining any of the following: Energy efficiency industry – e.g., utilities or performance contracting, HVAC operations, controls, and/or building energy investigations, Utility program experience in retro-commissioning, ASHRAE level 2 energy audits, or custom rebate calculations, Managing building retrofit projects, Implementing controls upgrades, Commissioning HVAC retrofits, HVAC Design or Electrical Design as part of a Design/Build or A&E Firm, Energy modeling using Open Studio or eQuest
PE (Professional Engineer) is preferred but not required
Excels at communicating complicated ideas to a variety of audiences
Skilled at interfacing with contractors and building owners
Deep interest in energy, systems, and process efficiency, and improving productivity
Lifetime self-learner
Ability to travel up to 30% regionally (upstate NY, CT, MA) with minimal (~2/month) overnight stays.
