About the role

  • Corporate Purchasing role at Messe Berlin focusing on EU-wide procurement and vendor negotiations. Engaging in strategic purchasing and contract management with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Independently carry out EU-wide procurement procedures, taking into account the applicable procurement requirements and all legal conditions.
  • Lead the execution of national tenders.
  • Provide procurement support to the business units for the assigned commodity group priorities in the areas of services, fleet, and operational supplies.
  • Conduct negotiations and contribute to the continued development of procurement (e.g., spend analyses, application of total cost of ownership (TCO) approaches).

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in business administration or a technical field, or an IHK-certified specialist qualification (Fachwirt) with proven many years of professional experience in the procurement of services.
  • Good knowledge of EU procurement law.
  • Initial experience in public-sector procurement and procurement experience in the services commodity group.
  • Strong user skills with standard software, including the MS Office suite, and experience with SAP R/3 MM, Vergabemanager, and IT procurement systems.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Several years of experience in independent project management.
