About the role
- Leading the procurement for technology & IT at Messe Berlin. Overseeing a small team and managing complex procurement processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead procurement for Technology & IT and related purchased services.
- Manage and further develop a small team, with particular responsibility for coordinating, planning and executing complex procurement processes.
- Conduct bidder meetings and negotiations while ensuring compliance with public procurement law, statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Perform technical and financial validation/review of specifications, handle contract amendments including negotiations, and act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders throughout the contract term.
- Identify and implement cost-saving, standardization and optimization opportunities in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- University degree (FH or university) in Computer Science, Economics, Business Law or a comparable field, or an equivalent qualification; alternatively several years of relevant professional experience.
- Several years of substantial, relevant experience in the procurement of goods and services.
- Strong technical and commercial expertise: excellent knowledge of the IT and services categories, IT law, quality standards, contract law, cost calculation and controlling.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legal regulations (e.g. EVB-IT, VgV, the German Civil Code (BGB), the Act Against Restraints of Competition (GWB)).
- Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office and SAP S/4HANA, and experience with current e‑tendering tools.
- Excellent German and good English skills (German C1; English B1) spoken and written are required.
