About the role

  • Chief of Staff guiding the board and leadership in strategic execution at a fintech company. Role includes operational coordination and oversight in compliance and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Board of Directors and executive leadership in executing the organisation’s strategic roadmap
  • Translate high-level strategic objectives into operational initiatives and measurable milestones
  • Monitor the progress of key initiatives and ensure accountability across departments
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities affecting strategic execution
  • Supporting the organisation and coordination of Board meetings
  • Preparing board materials, strategic briefings, and decision memoranda
  • Ensuring board decisions are documented, communicated, and implemented effectively
  • Maintaining governance documentation including: board agendas, decision registers, governance records, follow-up actions
  • Supporting the Board in overseeing risk management, compliance, and operational governance
  • Act as a central coordination point between key functions, including: Finance, Risk & Compliance, Legal, Technology, Information Security, Finance Operations
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment between leadership and operational teams
  • Facilitate cross-department collaboration to support strategic initiatives and regulatory obligations
  • Lead high-priority strategic projects on behalf of the Board and senior management
  • Conduct strategic analysis and prepare recommendations related to: market expansion, operational improvements, transformational projects, strategic partnerships, organisational development
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives requiring executive-level oversight
  • Support leadership in maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks including: MiCA, DORA, EU financial services governance expectations
  • Assist in ensuring the organisation maintains effective governance arrangements and internal control structures
  • Support preparation for regulatory engagements, supervisory reviews, and licence processes
  • Monitor service provider performance and risk exposure
  • Support the organisation’s relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and advisors
  • Coordinate internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and execution in external engagements
  • Represent senior leadership in meetings and strategic discussions when required
  • Identify opportunities to improve organisational efficiency and governance structures
  • Establish monitoring frameworks including: strategic KPIs, execution dashboards, performance monitoring
  • Support leadership in maintaining a strong execution culture and accountability framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline
  • 7–10+ years of professional experience in strategy, consulting, corporate leadership, or executive support roles
  • Experience working in financial services, fintech, or crypto-asset environments is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at senior executive or board level
  • Experience managing complex projects and cross-functional initiatives
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capability
  • Strong leadership presence and executive communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent stakeholder management and diplomacy
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance and organisational leadership
  • Ability to translate strategy into operational execution
  • The successful candidate will be subject to a mandatory F&P pre-assessment
  • Must meet Annex II – Skills of the EBA/ESMA suitability guidelines for members of the management body and key function holders
  • Must meet ESMA Fit & Proper assessment guidelines for CASPs under MiCA
  • The ideal candidate has already previously obtained a F&P approval.
