About the role
- Network Engineer for Mellon Technologies maintaining and upgrading network systems, configuring network devices, and providing support in a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, SDWAN). Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Monitor - performance and ensure system availability -system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Arranging scheduled upgrades, updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Investigating faults in the network
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access
- Research hardware and software solutions and create plans, including layouts and product specifications, for all data communication networks projects
- Secure all hardware and software required for network solutions or supervise network administrator tasked with securing all hardware and software
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Telecoms or equivalent field
- Minimum 5 years of experience on routing and switching with knowledge of Enterprise WAN and Data Center technologies
- Hands on experience on IP routing including TCP/IP and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SDWAN)
- Hands on experience in Cisco Switching, Cisco 2960, Cisco 9000 series and Cisco Nexus
- Certification in industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent Knowledge) will be considered as a plus
- Experience in network management and network monitoring tools
- Experience on architecture design of LAN/WAN and VoIP networks will be considered as a plus
- Hands on Experience on following vendor Firewalls FortiGate, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA , Cisco FTD, Sophos
- Experience working in a team within a complex and fast-paced environment
- Have good problem structuring and solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English.
