Network Engineer for Mellon Technologies maintaining and upgrading network systems, configuring network devices, and providing support in a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, SDWAN). Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
Monitor - performance and ensure system availability -system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Arranging scheduled upgrades, updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Investigating faults in the network
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access
Research hardware and software solutions and create plans, including layouts and product specifications, for all data communication networks projects
Secure all hardware and software required for network solutions or supervise network administrator tasked with securing all hardware and software
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Telecoms or equivalent field
Minimum 5 years of experience on routing and switching with knowledge of Enterprise WAN and Data Center technologies
Hands on experience on IP routing including TCP/IP and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SDWAN)
Hands on experience in Cisco Switching, Cisco 2960, Cisco 9000 series and Cisco Nexus
Certification in industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent Knowledge) will be considered as a plus
Experience in network management and network monitoring tools
Experience on architecture design of LAN/WAN and VoIP networks will be considered as a plus
Hands on Experience on following vendor Firewalls FortiGate, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA , Cisco FTD, Sophos
Experience working in a team within a complex and fast-paced environment
Have good problem structuring and solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English.
