Responsibilities
Running own case load of mainly post-litigation defender EL and PL files
Drafting advice to Insurers and Corporate Clients
Drafting pleadings/court documents
Adhering to court deadlines and managing files in accordance with court timetables and Client SLA’s
Review and analysis of relevant documents and assessing liability and quantum in claims
Investigating liability and securing witness and documentary evidence
Instructing experts where required
Liaising with clients/other insurers/third parties
Liaising with policyholders and witnesses
Negotiating settlements
Court appearance work if desired
Instructing and working with Counsel
Assisting Partners and other members of the team where required
Assisting in business development initiatives, including drafting of articles, blog pieces, e-shots and presentations and attendance at relevant events
Requirements
Litigation and personal injury experience (preferably defender)
Experience of work in the All Scotland Personal Injury Court

Ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure
Previous experience of time recording is preferable
The ability to work as part of a team and independently
Previous experience of EL and PL claims is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
